1. About these terms

These terms are an agreement between you and [Legal entity name], ABN [ABN] ("we", "us") for your use of Meridian. By creating an account you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law.

2. Who can join

• You must be at least 18 years old and free to marry under the law that applies to you.
• You may hold one account. The details you give must be true and your own - or, if you create a profile for a family member, theirs, and with their knowledge and agreement.
• Every profile is reviewed by a person before it goes live. We may ask for changes, or decline a profile, without giving detailed reasons.

3. Profiles created by family members

A parent, guardian, relative or friend may create a profile on behalf of someone else. The person the profile is for must be 18 or over and must have agreed to it. The person who created it is responsible for keeping it accurate, and the profile belongs to the person it describes.

4. How members must behave

You must not:

• impersonate anyone, misstate your age, marital status or identity, or use photos that are not of the person the profile is for;
• harass, threaten, abuse or discriminate against another member;
• ask for or send money, or promote any business, scheme or service;
• share another member's information or messages outside Meridian without their permission;
• post anything unlawful, sexually explicit or hateful; or
• scrape, copy or automate access to the service, or try to get around its security or its limits.

Please report anything that worries you using Report this member. Our Trust & Safety team reviews every report. We may remove content, suspend or close accounts that break these terms or put members at risk.

5. Your safety

We review profiles, but we cannot verify everything a member tells you and we do not run criminal background checks. Take care when sharing personal details, never send money to someone you have not met, and meet in a public place and tell someone where you will be. If you are in danger, call 000.

6. Premium

• Premium unlocks features described on the Premium page. Prices are in Australian dollars and include GST.
• A one-time plan lasts for the stated period and does not renew. A monthly plan renews automatically until you cancel; cancelling stops the next renewal, and you keep Premium until the end of the period already paid.
• Payments are processed by Stripe. Refunds are handled under our Refund Policy and the Australian Consumer Law.
• Premium does not guarantee a match, a reply or a marriage.

7. Your content

You keep ownership of what you post. You give us permission to store it and show it to the members your settings allow, for as long as it is on the service. You are responsible for having the right to post it.

8. Closing your account

You can close your account at any time in Settings. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and we will tell you unless doing so would put someone at risk or hinder an investigation. Unused Premium time is refunded only where our Refund Policy or the law requires it.

9. Liability

We provide Meridian with due care and skill, but we cannot promise it will always be available or error-free, and we are not responsible for how other members behave. To the extent the law allows, our liability is limited to resupplying the service or refunding what you paid for it. This does not limit any guarantee under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded.

10. Changes, and the law that applies

Each version of these terms is numbered. If we make a material change we will ask you to agree to the new version the next time you sign in. These terms are governed by the laws of [State], Australia.
